Mom and Dad's House: Demo Day!

With great anticipation and steady reminders to my parents to ready my blog to prepare themselves, we arrived at demo day on a warm Saturday morning.

Dad: Ally, is there anyway I can help?

Ally: Yes, put some shoes on.

As I walked through the house quietly saying goodbye to high school memories, Sebastian began covering all the furniture.

Then, the hammers started flying...and it begins.

We have seen a lot of demos, it certainly is strange to see it in my parents' house though.

My parents had the brilliant idea of going to my niece's track meet which was conveniently in town and Sebastian was holding down the fort, so I dashed to the Oakbrook project for a quick meeting with my client. In her consistently endearing and considerate fashion, she met me with a dozen donuts for the crews that were working at my parents' house.

Yes, you read that correctly. A client from ANOTHER project gave me donuts for my crews at my parents' house.

Just when I start thinking I might be a nice person, I realize that there is always room for improvement.

Then, I get a text from my sister.

"We stopped by - looks better already!"

When I came back, they were full throttle and fighting with the bathtub. It was nice to see a job well done 15 years ago - I don't think they appreciated that the way I did.

...and then it was over. I don't think "shocked" quite described the look on Mom and Dad's faces.
