Floorplan Reversal
This project consisted of the deconstruction of a typical Chicago 2-story framed building and new construction of a modern, approximately 2,700SF single family home. The design placed the common living areas to the 2nd Floor and the private living quarters to the 1st Floor. This project also required complex structural reinforcement using custom fabricated steel and strapping details, excavation to accommodate a full basement, specialty interior finishes, and architectural exterior cladding.
